New Pregnancy and Baby Journal App Offers Parents Privacy and Control
With the explosion of smart phones and social networks, recording your baby's life in an online journal has never been easier. But users are seeking more control over how they share such personal content online. A new app offers parents a solution.

CORK, IRELAND, February 20, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With the iPhone's 8MP camera and all-new optics, it's no wonder most parents reach no further when it comes to capturing photos and videos of their baby. The more difficult question is where to save and share these personal family moments online. While Facebook is great when you want to share with your wider social network, parents are now looking for better control and privacy when it comes to sharing content online.

Tweekaboo (http://www.tweekaboo.com) is a new iPhone app and website that allows new and soon-to-be parents to instantly upload photos and videos from their iPhones to a secure online pregnancy and baby journal. The memories quickly build into a private interactive timeline of the years their children can't remember. Users can also invite family members and close friends to Tweekaboo's private social network where they can easily share the precious moments of their pregnancy and their baby's first years with an audience that really cares.

"I realised that as time went by, our smart phones were filling up with texts, photos and videos that recorded the wonderful story of our children's lives. I wanted a safe, convenient place to save these memories so my children could look back on them when they were older but I couldn't find an easy solution. So we developed Tweekaboo to give parents a simple, secure and private means of recording and sharing their precious moments with family and close friends," Tweekaboo Founder - and father of 4 - Eugene Murphy said.

In response to what it sees as a growing demand for personal private networks, Tweekaboo has made its service private by default but also offers parents the ability to share their content publicly if they wish. "Our users are looking for a convenient service with simple privacy settings and really value our 'private by default' offering. However, they are also looking for the ability to share some content publicly and as a result we have fully integrated our service with both Facebook and Twitter," added Murphy.

The constant improvements in mobile phone cameras and ubiquity of secure cloud storage now make it possible to easily keep an online journal of your baby's life and access that journal from every device you own.

"We are committed to building a secure digital journal platform and a private, personal network that gives parents more choice and control over how they store and share their pregnancy and baby photos and videos online," said Murphy.

With online privacy becoming more and more of a concern, Apps and platforms like Tweekaboo are serving a growing demand for better privacy and control when it comes to sharing online.
